More tools would be useful in maximizing use of QOL in assessing center health. ConclusionHealth related quality of life is an indicator of patient perceived mental and physical health over time as well as an indicator of quality of care in the center. The KDQOL-36 and KDQOL Complete are effective tools in assist -ing the interdisciplinary team, center and corporate management in evalu-ating the effect of dialysis on patient perception of quality of life. The pre-dictive power of the KDQOL-36 poten-tially facilitates increased awareness of patient perceived challenges prior to health crises. With regional and center orientation to the survey, cor -porate and management support of the process, and an effective scor -ing tool, the center social worker can assist the interdisciplinary team to conceptualize the effect of clinical outcomes on patient well-being and Rehabilitation Update potentially increase center profitabil-ity by decreasing missed treatments and hospitalizations.7 References1.
